Patient in Focus (www.patientinfocus.org) is an international, nonprofit disease neutral patient organization based in Denmark. Driven by patients for patients.
Patient in Focus improves the living conditions for patients through knowledge, tools and education so that patients can lead a life of quality despite illness and disability.

Data protection and personal data
Information about the processing of personal data about you pursuant to the Personal Data Act §28, as well as Cookie and privacy policy.
Patient in Focus processes personal information about you when you contact us via email, letter or telephone. We also process personal information about you if you receive a message from a board member.
If you have a position in the Patient in Focus organization or are employed by us, we process your personal information electronically. We process personal information in relation to applicants for positions or employees in order to be able to manage your employment relationship or to be able to establish an employment relationship.
For the processing of your personal data upon application or employment in Patient in Focus, the Personal Data Act §6 para. 1 pkt. 2 and §7 para. 3.
In connection with the Personal Data Act §28, we must inform you that we process personal data electronically, which is necessary in order to process your inquiry, your affiliation or the collaboration with you. This entails that we must process your personal data.

The purpose of processing your personal data is to be able to take care of your interests in accordance with the organization’s articles of association and purpose, to be able to communicate with you throughout our collaboration and also be able to carry out the administrative work that is necessary in Patient in Focus´ work. In addition, Patient in Focus has chosen to use your consent as a basis for the processing of your personal data. This happens when you choose to use the website, want to do volunteer work, participate in projects or establish a membership.
Patient in Focus does not pass on any of your information to a third party without your permission, unless we are obliged to do so in accordance with Danish law. Personal information about you will be deleted when we no longer have a purpose for processing it. You can withdraw your consent at any time without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing, which is based on the consent before the withdrawal. You must write to info@patientinfocus.org if you wish to delete the given consent ahead of time. Patient in Focus deletes your consent after the end of the project period or after a maximum of five (5) years. According to the Personal Data Act, you have the right to insight into and rectification or deletion of personal data or restriction of processing of information about you.
If you do not want Patient in Focus to process the personal information about you that is necessary for us to manage your affiliation with the organization, collaborate on projects or communicate with us, then the result may be that you cannot maintain your affiliation and our cooperative relationship must end.
You can submit a complaint to us via info@patientinfocus.org and/or the Danish Data Protection Agency dt@datatilsynet.dk if you find that Patient in Focus’ processing of your information is incorrect.
Cookies and privacy policy
Introduction
When you visit our website, information about you is collected, which is used to customize and improve our content and to increase the value of the ads that are displayed. General
Personal information is all types of information that to some extent can be attributed to you. When you use our website, we collect and process such information. It happens e.g. by accessing content, if you sign up to receive our newsletter, participate in contests or surveys, register as a user, member or subscriber, use services, or make purchases via Patient in Focus websites.
We typically collect and process the following types of information: A unique ID and technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile phone, your IP address, geographical location, and which pages you click on (interests). To the extent that you yourself give explicit consent to this and enter the information yourself, the following is also processed: name, telephone number, e-mail, address and payment information. This will typically be in connection with the creation of a login and/or upon purchase.
Security
We have taken technical and organizational measures against your information being accidentally or illegally deleted, published, lost, degraded or come to the knowledge of unauthorized persons, misused or otherwise processed in violation of the law. Patient in Focus internally shares data in the EU/EEA and third countries.
Purpose
The information is used to identify you as a user and show you the ads that are most likely to be relevant to you, to register your purchases and payments, as well as to be able to provide the services you have requested, such as submitting to receiving a newsletter. In addition, we use the information to optimize our service and content.
Period of storage
The information is stored for the period permitted by law and deleted when it is no longer needed. The period depends on the nature of the information and the reason for the storage. It is therefore not possible to specify a general time frame for when information is deleted.
Disclosure of information
Data about your use of the website, which ads you receive and possibly click on, geographical location, gender and age segment, etc. is passed on to third parties to the extent that this information is known. You can see which third parties are involved in the section on “Cookies” above. The information is used to target advertising and improve the experience of our website.

Data is stored at Patient in Focus’ internal data archive. Texts, quotes and articles are published on Patient in Focus’ website, social media and marketing materials. The collected data will be deleted or anonymized when Patient in Focus no longer needs it for the purpose for which it was collected. All projects are indicated CONFIDENTIAL and not shared. If you are offered an honorarium, coverage costs or something similar. Patient in Focus will need your social security number and bank details in order to pay you. This is a part of Danish legislation and applies to everyone. Patient in Focus must store your data on a GDPR secure drive in OneDrive, DanLøn, Skat and other accounting systems and delete it in accordance with the law.
Patient in Focus is fully responsible for your data and is obligated to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding personal data protection, such as the Personal Data Act and other applicable laws that regulates privacy.
Patient in Focus establishes security measures to ensure the protection of the registered parties data including the protection of said parties’ personal data in connection with data to countries within the EU.
